Derek Distenfield is the co-founder of NextGenJustice, a tribe of Legal Soluti
ons Managers that can help businesses and individuals with legal documents, and he decided to use Socedo to help build traffic towards their website. Though Derek was pleased with the platform and the traffic Socedo generated, the team started to notice that the engagement through DMs wasn’t as authentic as how they built connections in person.
“Continued connections and authenticity with our customers facing legal dilemmas is imperative to our success especially since we have a business that touches consumers both online and in person,” said Derek.
Using Socedo Success as a Resource
While trying to figure out a way to improve, Derek came across Slope’s case study on our blog. This study focused on breaking rules of writing a typical DM, with examples and proven data. Derek followed these tips to fix up and test out a new way of writing their direct messages and approach potential customers.
“After reading the blog, we added a more authentic opening to introduce myself as the founder, rather than asking them to check our website. We mentioned why they would be a good fit and encouraged them them to try us out.”
Since implementing the change, NextGenJustice’s response rate has increased by around 18%, and their click-through rate increased by over 30%.
Derek started using Socedo as a tool to help gain a following and awareness, but now the platform actually acquires paying customers both online and into their locations. The new change increased NextGenJustice’s personal connection substantially.
In addition to the helpful case study, Derek worked with Nate, a Socedo Customer Success Manager, to help refine the search criteria, target the best audience, and track success.
Socedo customers also take advantage of:
- Customer Experience Managers that help set up new users during the free trial
- Best practice emails, webinars, and blog posts
- Demo videos that walk through product features
- Feature guides explaining how to use a lead data export or sync leads into other marketing automation platforms
Tips from Derek
NextGenJustice made sure to take advantage of everything Socedo had to offer. They use Socedo to export their Twitter followers with Linkedin profiles and send them connection requests. If they accept the request, a message is sent titled “Thanks for connecting” with information on their free veteran business taxes or low cost legal forms for business.
“For us, taking the time to be authentic, real and customizable works as we seek to disrupt the legal industry for businesses and consumers alike,” said Derek. “We have been thrilled with how Socedo has done that both online with the platform and offline with Socedo’s customer service and support.”
