Did I catch your attention? Well if I did, then I hope I sparked some curiosity into what this blog may be about, which is, surprisingly about how to grab YOUR attention.
Not grabbing attention on just anything, but on grabbing the attention of your potential customers and drawing them towards your business through desire and creativity.
A great example of a company that knows all about retargeting and having an effective call to action is a London based PPC Agency called Brainlabs Digital.
How, you may ask? Let me show you.
When you first glance at this ad, you might be confused on why it’s so simple, yet so obvious. The box states what the ad is (kind of) and tells you what to do. Some people might be skeptical at things that say, “please click here” but to others, like myself, this ad is enticing. The color is bright, it catches your eye and draws you in with the white outline of the black font so the call to action stands out. Because this made me curious like a cat on what would happen next, I decided to take a chance and click on the ad.
Once I clicked, this popped up.
Funny right? They even “aha” with me as I giggled reading the huge text that claims that they’ve been searching for me for weeks. At this point I started to get a sense of the quirkiness and personality of their company. But the best part wasn’t the humor, the best part is while reading the ad I start understanding that I was learning what a “prospecting ad” was, through a prospecting ad!
Clever, Brainlabs, clever.
But it doesn’t stop there. When I finally reach the bottom of the page, it asks me to give my opinion on their ad by pressing one of the two buttons listed. My choices were either “like” in green or “hate” in red, just like a stop and go traffic light. So because “like” sounded way nicer than “hate”, I decided to click like. (Just kidding, I actually liked it!)
So after one last click, it brought me to this page where they make me feel special by thanking for my opinion.
As I keep reading, I see that our on and off relationship from targeting and drawing me in is now at a closing deal. They end this ad with a link to a programmatic display page on their website explaining how Brainlabs target users with relevant display based on interests, browsing history and demographic. So overall, everything just comes into full circle!
So as you can see, behind every great call to action there are different tactics into converting people into customers (like clicking on multiple pages out of interest). Even though humor and quirkiness may work for Brainlabs, you have to remember that each business is different.
This means off to drawing board to get creative for your next best idea!
